BATIMAT 2024: GoodWe Brings Innovative BIPV Solutions to Change Perspective in Construction and Expand Market Growth in Europe

GoodWe announces its participation in Batimat 2024, which will be held from September 30 to October 3 in Paris, Porte de Versailles, where it will present its innovative BIPV solutions for low-bearing roofs, carports, and balconies. As a rising star in the construction industry, GoodWe will focus on showcasing the architectural performance of solar panels and their applications in home living and C&I production to visitors. Builders, EPCs, end-users, and other industry stakeholders can observe systematic, one-stop photovoltaic building solutions at booth H1-W080.

Having been applied and tested across various regions, GoodWe's BIPV product portfolio will make its debut in France in an expanded format, following the recent launch of its European division and the formation of a dedicated team.

France had a record year in 2023, with nearly 3.2 GW connected. This trend is expected to continue as the country moves toward its carbon neutrality goal and the electrification of energy uses. However, as solar becomes ubiquitous, space must be used intelligently for its deployment. Buildings offer enormous potential, but many are not suitable for installations with conventional modules due to structural, functional, or economic reasons. That’s why GoodWe is developing BIPV solutions to provide a solar solution for every building,” says Sébastien Bordonné, head of the PV Building Materials division in Europe at GoodWe.

Founded in 2020, GoodWe's PVBM division, which holds over 160 patents, aims to democratize BIPV solutions through simplicity and affordability, thereby promoting large-scale adoption. The company will present products particularly suited to the specifics of the French market.

Galaxy Series is considered as robust and efficient as a conventional module but 60% lighter to adapt to low load-bearing roofs. Weighing only 5.6 kg/m², the Galaxy solar panel is designed for low-load roofs. It is ideal for flat roofs of tertiary buildings, enabling owners to achieve their environmental goals on buildings that cannot support conventional solar panels. Its ultra-thin glass of 1.6 mm greatly helps improve its ability to resist strong impact from wind and hail, bringing durability and safety to buildings with all-weather protection.  Various installation methods and the integrated design also enable rapid and streamlined installation.

The Polaris Series is designed for waterproof solar carports. Thanks to its double-glass construction and a specific integration frame, the Polaris panel ensures perfect coverage and waterproofing of a carport or parking canopy, making this energy infrastructure a complete architectural object that aesthetically integrates into its environment. As the government announced in 2023 its intention to cover at least 50% of parking lots over 1,500 m² with photovoltaic canopies, Polaris arrives in France at the right time.

The Suncake Series is the versatile solar station for DIY enthusiasts. Residential self-consumption is rapidly developing in France, leading to the sale of solar stations. Easy to install independently, Suncake allow homeowners who cannot or do not wish for a more powerful solar installation to switch to solar energy. GoodWe recently launched Suncake in France to offer not only a more affordable option but also a more versatile one. For DIY enthusiasts who appreciate freedom and flexibility, Suncake can be placed on the ground or on a balcony and, thanks to its 10-90° adjustable angles, maximizes energy production.
