Charge battery at off-peak price
The battery system stores excess power generated from the PV array to inject solar power to the grid and avoid restricting solar production. When solar production is weak, the battery will discharge to support load consumption.
PROVIDE BACKUP FOR CRITICAL LOADS
The battery stores solar power or takes energy from the grid for energy requirements during grid outage. Loads such as refrigerators, routers, lamps, computers and other critical appliances can be powered when the grid fails. The system can automatically switch to backup mode within 8 milliseconds.
TIME OF USE (TOU)
By setting the charging and discharging time, the battery can be charged using electricity generated at off peak rates and discharged to power loads during peak hours.

Hybrid inverter (LV)
The GoodWe ES series bi-directional energy storage inverter can be used for both on-grid and off-grid PV systems, with the ability to control the flow of energy intelligently. During the day, the PV array generates electricity which can be provided either to the loads, fed into the grid or charge the battery, depending on the economics and set-up. The electricity stored can be released when the loads require it during the night, including inductive loads such as air conditioners or refrigerators. Additionally, the power grid can also charge storage devices via the inverter. An all-round intelligent system for maximum energy flexibility.

The GoodWe SBP series is the world’s first AC-coupled battery storage retrofit solution with UPS function. It can effectively upgrade any existing string inverter system by adding a backup battery. Capable of being grid-interactive, it allows users to store surplus power and sell it back to the grid when demand peaks and the price of electricity is at its highest. With a UPS-level switching function (switching time <10 ms), the GoodWe SBP provides an uninterruptible power supply to critical loads. It runs reliably under even the most extreme conditions with metal aluminium housing with IP65 protection.

Compatible with GoodWe ES/EM/SBP inverters, the modular battery system is scalable in the range from 5.4 to 32.4 kWh.
